Microneedling uses a medical-grade device with very fine needles to make controlled micro-punctures in the skin. The skin answers with its normal healing response and produces new collagen and elastin — the proteins that keep it firm and smooth. It is a way to improve texture, scars and fine lines without surgery and without the longer recovery of a laser.
Who it is for
Microneedling suits adults who want to work on:
- fine lines and early wrinkles
- mild to moderate acne scars
- enlarged pores and rough texture
- uneven tone and sun-related pigmentation
It is generally safe for all skin tones, including darker skin, where some lasers carry a pigmentation risk.
It is not done if you have an active skin infection or open wounds, a tendency to keloid scars, certain autoimmune conditions, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The clinic checks this at the consultation.

During and after the session
A numbing cream goes on first, so the treatment itself is comfortable. The session takes 30–60 minutes.
Afterwards the skin looks and feels like a mild sunburn — red and slightly swollen — for a few days. During that time: no sun, only gentle skincare and the moisturiser the clinic recommends.
Most people do a series of 3–6 sessions, 4–6 weeks apart. Collagen builds up gradually, so the result keeps improving for weeks after each session.
Boosters: hyaluronic acid, PRP, exosomes
Microneedling opens channels in the skin, so whatever is applied during the session goes deeper. The clinic offers three options:
- hyaluronic acid — the standard option, for hydration
- PRP or PRF — plasma from your own blood, for scars and stronger rejuvenation
- exosomes — a premium option for tired, ageing skin
Which one makes sense for your skin is decided at the consultation.
Planning it around your lashes
The skin stays red and sensitive for a few days after microneedling, so it is better not to book a lash appointment in those days. If you are planning both — say, before an event — tell us in your request and we'll space the two appointments with the clinic.

Does microneedling hurt?
A numbing cream is applied before the session, so most people find it comfortable. Afterwards the skin feels like a mild sunburn for a few days.
How many sessions will I need?
Usually 3–6, spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Deeper scars need more sessions than texture or pores.
Can I do it at home with a derma roller instead?
It is not a good idea. Home kits can't reach a controlled depth in sterile conditions and can cause infection or scarring. In the clinic it is done with a medical-grade device by trained staff.
When can I book lashes after microneedling?
Once the redness has settled — usually after a few days. If you're booking both, tell us and we'll space them with the clinic.
