Lip filler is a soft gel made of hyaluronic acid — a substance your skin already contains, which holds water and keeps tissue plump. Injected into the lips, it adds volume, evens out asymmetry and sharpens the lip line. The change is visible straight away, and because the gel is hyaluronic acid, it can be dissolved if you ever want to undo it.

A natural result is the default: the nurse plans the amount around your face, not around a trend. Most lip treatments take one to two syringes.

Products
The clinic uses only products approved in Canada, from established brands such as Juvéderm, Restylane, Teoxane, Belotero and Stylage. Different gels have different firmness and are suited to different goals — the nurse chooses the product at the consultation.
Comfort, swelling and how long it lasts
A numbing cream or a local anaesthetic is used, and many fillers also contain an anaesthetic, so most people describe only mild discomfort.
Lips usually swell for the first few days, and small bruises can appear — the final shape shows once the swelling is gone. The result typically lasts about 6–12 months; after that a smaller top-up keeps the shape.
Before an event, with lashes
Because of the swelling, lip filler is best done well ahead of a wedding or photo shoot — ideally a couple of weeks before — while lashes are usually done a day or a few days before. Tell us the date of your event and we'll plan both appointments with the clinic.

How long does lip filler last?
Usually about 6–12 months, depending on the product and on your body.
Can filler be removed if I don't like it?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. Discuss it with the nurse if you are worried.
How long before an event should I do it?
Ideally a couple of weeks, so the swelling has gone and there is time for a touch-up if needed.
