Why your phone camera is not enough

A phone's own macro mode focuses somewhere near the lash line and guesses at the rest. What you get is a photo where the fan looks soft and the direction is unreadable — which is fine for a story and useless for a portfolio. The Vilmy lens puts real glass in front of the sensor, so individual lashes stay separate and the set actually looks like the work you did.
