Staleks Pro Expert 41 Tweezers TE-41/10

The only one of the seven with a different job

Every other Expert tweezer in this batch has 'for eyelash extensions' on its spec sheet. This one says 'for isolating natural lashes', and the geometry follows: it is ten millimetres longer than the rest and its tip is half as long again as any of them. Isolation is the half of the work nobody photographs and every retention problem traces back to.

What the length buys

• Visibility. Elongated thin edges keep your hand and the tool body out of the sightline while you are separating.
• Reach. Extended handles and 135 mm mean you hold a lash open without your knuckles on the client's face.
• Endurance. A long tip lets you rest a lash against the shank rather than gripping it for the whole placement.

Buy it as a pair with something else

An isolator alone builds nothing. It works opposite a volume tool — the TE-40/12 boot if you fan on your fingers, the TE-40/2 if you fan off the tape. Staleks calls this one a must-have, and for once that is not marketing: nothing else in the line does this job.
