Lash Extension Courses in Toronto: A Complete Beginner's Guide

If you have moved to Canada and are looking for a new profession — or want to add a skill to an existing beauty career — lash extensions are worth a serious look. The Toronto market is large, demand is steady, and the way in is relatively quick.

As a trainer who has taught dozens of artists, and who walked the road from beginner to a fully booked studio myself, here is an honest guide with the details included.

    Why lash extensions?

A fast start. A course takes 2–5 days. After 2–3 months of practice you can be working with paying clients.

A schedule you set. You decide when you work — it fits around a day job or around children.

Real income. A full-time artist in Toronto earns $4,000–$8,000 CAD a month. The top artists earn considerably more.

No requalification. Ontario has no mandatory provincial licence for lash extensions, so there is no foreign diploma to get recognised first.

You can work in your own language. The Ukrainian and Russian-speaking communities across the GTA are large, and many clients specifically look for an artist they can talk to in their mother tongue.

    What a good course includes

Theory: eye anatomy, lash types, safety, contraindications, sanitation. Demonstration: the trainer works through a full set on a live model. Practice: every student works on live models under supervision. The business side: pricing, marketing, and the legal basics of working in Canada. Materials: a professional starter kit, ideally included in the course fee. Certification: proof you completed the training. Support after graduation: mentoring, answers to your questions, help with your first clients.

    What training costs

Classic extensions (2–3 days): $800–$1,500 CAD. Volume (2–3 days): $1,000–$2,000 CAD. Mega volume (1–2 days): $800–$1,500 CAD. A comprehensive programme: $2,000–$3,500 CAD.

It is an investment that pays for itself within one to three months of working.

How to choose the right course

Look at the trainer's portfolio — are they still working with clients today, and is the work good? Ask about group size; four to six people is ideal. Are there live models? Are materials included? What support exists after the course ends? Are there reviews from previous students?

    My courses

I teach in my own studio in North York, in groups of up to four. Training is available in Ukrainian, so you can absorb the technical vocabulary in your own language — which makes the whole thing considerably easier.

Every graduate receives a full starter kit of materials, a certificate, and free support after graduation.

Your first steps after the course

Practise on people you know — fifty sets is your real exam. Start an Instagram account for your portfolio. Register a Google Business Profile. Raise your prices gradually. Ask every client for a review.

    FAQ

Do I need English to take the course?

My courses are available in Ukrainian. Basic English will help once you start working with English-speaking clients.

    Can I work from home?

Yes — many artists start with a home studio. Check your local zoning rules and get liability insurance before you take your first client.

How long until I feel confident?

Usually 3–6 months of steady practice after the course.
